Originating in circa 1951 Sisters Creek Rural Youth is one of the longest surviving Tasmanian Rural Youth clubs. Today, many years since the first meeting, the club is still quite active in the local community, organising social events and having stalls each year at the Wynyard Show and Bloomin' Tulip Festival. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Wynyard Showgrounds Presidential Rooms at 7.30pm. Our club has members from all walks of life. Not all of us have rural backgrounds and our occupations range considerably (secretaries, students, farmers, electricians...) but as we like to say here at Sister's Creek, "you dont have to be one to be one". Even though we live on the sunny North West, we can always be found at different functions held by other clubs and regions around the state. If you are interested in joining our club, or want to know more, please call our president, Nalin, on 0407 337 546, or secretary, Carol, on 64324037. |
