The Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania held their Annual General Meeting over the weekend of the 15th & 16th March at Woodfield Lodge in Dysart.

Matthew Ireland from North Esk was elected into the position of president for 2008.

The Vice Presidents are James McShane from Oatlands and Alisha Duggan from Hagley.

Matthew (pictured to the right with wife Lisa) was the Senior Vice President in 2007, which he used as a planning year before taking over the organisations most senior role at the Annual General Meeting. 

Matthew has previously represented Rural Youth on and International Exchange to New Zealand and has also won the organisations prestigious Outstanding Member Award.
