Rural Financial Counselling Service Tasmania (RFCS Tasmania) is a free and confidential service providing financial related information and support to the Tasmanian farming community.

Rural Financial Counselling Service Tasmania can help with:
- help farm families assess and understand their financial positions;
- assist in identifying options and developing a plan of action;
- make people aware of any possible eligibility for assistance from Centrelink and other Government agencies.

RURAL FINANCIAL COUNSELLING SERVICE CAN PROVIDE SUPPORT AND INFORMATION IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

FINANCIAL
- Assist with loan and/or refinance applications.
- Help prepare budgets and cash flows.
- Provide support and mediation, negotiation with creditors and financial institutions.

SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS
- Help people to identify eligibility for Social Security entitlements.
- Access to forms and assistance to fill in advocacy role.

SUCCESSION PLANNING
- Facilitate decision-making and communication between family members.
- Explore issues of passing on the family farm.

PERSONAL & FAMILY ISSUES
- Providing an independent and non-judgmental ear.
- Referrals to relevant agencies.

GUARANTEED CONFIDENTIALITY
RFCS Tasmania is a confidential service.  All matters discussed with the service are confidential and nothing is disclosed to outside agencies, or individuals without your permission.

The service is free and the counsellor will visit at your home, or you can call in to the office if you prefer.
