2011 IRRIGATION TASMANIA YOUNG FARMER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

The sought after title of the 2011 Irrigation Tasmania Young Farmer of the Year Award was held at Quercus Rural Youth Park on Saturday 24th September where fifteen competitors tested out their skills in modules from fencing to packing up an electric fence.  This year's winner is Michael Nichols of Sisters Creek Rural Youth Club who took away $4,000 in cash and prizes.  Second place went to Martin McConnon of Oatlands, who won $3,000 in cash and prizes.  Third place was awarded to Ag Science student, Victoria Principal, the only female competitor to make the top 6.
