This Thursday, December 10 sees the AGM of the Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania s newest club, King Island Rural Youth.
After months of hard work behind the scenes, the club will this week be unveiled at the King Island Club, 8 Nether by Road, Currie from 6pm. It is expected that more than twenty new members will be signed up over the evening for the 2016 year.

On Saturday September 12th, 29 year old Stonor resident William McConnon edged out his younger brother Martin to be named ‘Australian Chainsaws Products Rural Youth Young Farmer of the Year’ for 2015. After 10 modules and with over 1400 points up for grabs, only 30 points separated the top two competitors in one of the tightest finishes in recent history.
The 2015 Rural Youth Tasmania Young Farmer of the Year finalists have been announced after the completion of the runoff stage. Over the weekend of July 18-19, 25 members of Rural Youth Tasmania took part in regional runoffs, held in three locations state-wide, with the top 15 now moving into the finals to be held on Saturday September 12th at Quercus Park, the home of Agfest.
This weekend sees the return of the Rural Youth Tasmania's biggest annual competition, with run offs for the Young Farmer of the Year being held in three locations state-wide.
