Rural Youth State President Brady Robins said at the launch “The Young Farmer of the Year Competition is a great way for our aspiring young farmers to not only showcase their skills but to learn new skills and build relationships with industry representatives along the way”.

Mr Robins also praised Woolworths for their continued support as the naming rights sponsor of the competition. “It is great to be able to partner with Woolworths to again present the Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year competition. Last year the event was a huge success, and I cannot wait to see what this year holds!”

Woolworths, who has signed up for another 4 years as naming rights sponsor, values their involvement as a sign of support for all Tasmanian young farmers. Woolworths Operations Manager for Tasmania, Nannette Rose, said “We value highly the relationships Woolworths have with our Tasmanian farmers and primary producers and are very proud to be the naming rights sponsor of Rural Youth’s Young Farmer of the Year Competition again this year.  It is such a worthwhile competition, and the sponsorship is one way of showing our support to all the young farmers of Tasmania".
